At the Gates of Dusk

I stand alone at the Gates of Dusk,
A fire blazing in the sky.
The trees are shadows, the clouds they glow,
The water reflects the light.
A sun half down but still half up,
Dying but still alive.
A time of change, a liminal time,
A time that is between.
She stand before me and opens the Gates,
The oldest but latest born.
She beacons forward to follow the sun,
Down to its lonely grave.
Alone I stand with only her,
The enticing and love Dusk.
But back I step from that fair breach,
And turn my eyes to home.

Salutations to the Sun

Salutations to the sun,
Burning brightly now.
Ball of white with yellow flame,
Going now to bed.

Shadows form as she goes down,
Down to her nightly bed.
A sky still lit in orange and blue,
As the land below goes dark.

Shining bright there on the edge,
In this time that's between time.
Night she comes and Day she leaves,
And Twilight rules the sky.

Hole in the Sky

Hole in the Sky

There's a hole in the sky,
Where light shines in.
Dark and hollow.

If you stare at the centre,
You see right through,
To other worlds,
To heaven, to hell.

All around the hole,
The light defuses.
Rays of sunlight,
Light is spread.

Apollo and Sol,
Ra and Helios.
Surya and Horus,
Tonatiuh and Amaterasu.

The hole has substance,
The hole gives heat.
Great fire of sky,
Our local star.

I hear Her pulse in the rumbling of the earth.
I hear Her breath in the sun flare rising toward the Earth.
Her pulse echoes in mine, Her breath fills me, brings me to life.
The power that shakes the earth sustains me.
The power that powers the sun gives me life.
She flows in me, I flow in Her.
I’m an echo of Her.
